Frequently asked questions

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

What does "first row is the header" do?

When it is on, the first row becomes the keys, and every other row becomes an object, like {"name": "Asha", "age": 29}. When it is off, you get a list of lists instead.

Why are my numbers in quotes?

Turn on "Convert numbers and true/false to real JSON types". With it off, every value stays as text.

Can it handle semicolon or tab separated files?

Yes. Leave the delimiter on auto-detect, or choose semicolon, tab, or pipe yourself.

How large a file can I convert?

There is no fixed limit, but very large files (hundreds of thousands of rows) may be slow because everything is processed on your device.
